You have finally landed in Aswan. When you step into the Aswan Airport terminal, you will be directed to the baggage claim area after passport control and customs. Follow the signs to reach the place where you will collect your baggage. The signs are in English and Arabic. Aswan Airport is a boutique airport. Therefore, the baggage claim area is not very large.
If you flew from Cairo, you can collect your baggage immediately. After disembarking the plane and entering the terminal building, you will see a small baggage area right in front of you. If you are arriving from abroad, you must first go through passport control. After passport control, you can collect your baggage.
How Does the Baggage Claim Process Work?
After disembarking from the plane, you will be directed to passport control. After passport control, you will reach the baggage claim area. You can find the conveyor belt assigned to your flight number on the screens. Luggage will be on the belts 20-30 minutes after the plane lands. During peak seasons, the waiting time may be longer. However, your luggage will usually arrive while you are going through passport control.
After collecting your luggage, you will go through customs control. Once you have passed through customs, you can exit the terminal. The baggage claim process is quick at Aswan Airport.
What Should You Do If Your Luggage Is Lost?
Sometimes we wait for our luggage, and it never arrives. If this happens to you, don’t panic. Go immediately to the baggage service desk of the airline you flew with and report your baggage as lost. Here, you will need to fill out an official lost baggage report called a Property Irregularity Report (PIR). This document allows the airline to enter the international tracking system used to locate your baggage. You can also use this document to file a claim for compensation later.

You must fill out this form completely.
