Losing your belongings at the airport can disrupt the rhythm of your vacation. But don’t panic just yet. Lost items are tracked by the airport’s lost property department and returned to their owners. Aswan Airport is a small airport. Therefore, the chances of finding your lost items are much higher than at large metropolitan airports.
The first thing you should do when you realize you have lost your belongings is to contact the airport information desk. The staff there will direct you to the Lost and Found office. The Lost and Found office is located near the baggage claim area. If you dropped your item in general terminal areas such as passport control, the waiting lounge, or the cafeteria, these items are delivered to the Lost and Found office by terminal security and airport cleaning crews. You should fill out a form immediately for your lost item. The form is available in both Arabic and English. Write the following information on this form.
Personal Information: Your first name, last name, passport number, the address and phone number of the hotel where you are staying in Egypt.
Flight Information: Your flight number, seat number, and flight date.
Item Details: Type, brand, color, and distinguishing features of the item.
Place and Time of Loss: Where you last saw the item.
What should you do if your item is lost on the plane?
If you left your item on the plane, you should contact your airline immediately. The airport is not responsible for items left on the plane. As soon as you realize you have lost your item, do not leave the plane and inform the cabin crew of your situation. The flight crew checks the seat backs, overhead bins, and other areas of the plane after the flight.
